Terms of Service

Version 1.0 — 23 July 2026

This is our first published version. There is no older version, so nothing here replaces an earlier promise. If we change these terms, we will publish a new version number and date at the top of this page.

Note for Miresho — remove this box before you treat this page as final. Some company details below are still marked [[INVULLEN: …]]. Every one of those has to be filled in by ALF Holdings East Africa Ltd, and this page should be checked by a Kenyan lawyer before you rely on it.

1Who we are

Miresho — also written as Mireya Live — is a live streaming platform for Kenyan talent. Viewers watch live shows, buy coins and send gifts. Hosts go live and earn a share of those gifts.

The platform is run by ALF Holdings East Africa Ltd, a company registered in Kenya, based in Nairobi. Where these terms say "we", "us" or "Miresho", that is the company.

  • Company registration number: [[INVULLEN: company registration number of ALF Holdings East Africa Ltd]]
  • Registered office: [[INVULLEN: full registered office address in Nairobi]]
  • Contact e-mail: inuka@mireya.app

You will find Miresho at stream.mireya.app and miresho.co.ke. By using the site, by applying to become a host, or by sending a gift, you accept these terms.

2You must be 18 or older

Miresho is for adults only. Nobody under 18 may watch, gift, apply or stream.

  • Viewers give their date of birth when they create an account. Our system refuses to create an account for anyone who says they are under 18. We do not check a viewer's ID document.
  • Guests who gift without an account pay through M-Pesa, and an M-Pesa line is registered to an adult. We rely on that.
  • Hosts are checked properly. You upload your national ID or passport and a selfie holding it. A member of our team compares the two, checks that your date of birth makes you 18 or older, and only then can you go live. This check cannot be switched off, and no host streams without it.

If we find out someone under 18 is using Miresho, we close the account, stop any stream immediately and delete what we are not required to keep.

3Your account and logging in

There are no passwords on Miresho. You log in with a one-time code sent to your phone by SMS or WhatsApp, or to your e-mail address. You use either a phone number or an e-mail address as your identity — one or the other, not both.

  • Keep your phone and your e-mail secure. Anyone who can read your codes can use your account.
  • Codes expire after 15 minutes, and there is a limit on how many you can request in an hour.
  • A login session lasts up to 30 days before you have to sign in again. You can end all your sessions at any time from the app ("log out everywhere").
  • One account per person. Our system records a hashed fingerprint of the browser you use, so we can spot one device that is being used to run several accounts. That gets flagged for a human to look at.
  • Do not share, sell or lend your account. A host account is personal — the ID we verified must belong to the person on camera.

4Becoming a host

Miresho is invitation-only. You cannot sign up as a host from an open form: you need the code or QR of a host manager who invited you. Without a valid, active code the application will not even start.

What the application asks for

  1. Your host's code or QR.
  2. Photos: one main photo, plus up to two extra photos for screening.
  3. Identity: a photo of your national ID or passport, and a selfie holding that document.
  4. Your details: full name, date of birth, e-mail, phone, town.
  5. Your talent: category, what you show or teach, and optional details such as stage name, social handles, languages, experience, how many hours you can stream, your phone model, your internet, and the M-Pesa number you would like to be paid on.
  6. Three confirmations: that you are 18 or older and accept these terms and the privacy policy, that we may show your photo on your talent profile, and that you will follow the house rules.

We record when you gave those confirmations and the IP address you gave them from. That record is our proof that you agreed — and your proof of what you agreed to.

What happens next

  • Our team reviews your application. We accept a limited number of talents each month, so we may approve, put you on a waiting list, or turn you down.
  • Approval creates your account. It does not yet allow you to stream. Streaming is unlocked only when your identity check is completed and approved.
  • Your photo appears on the public discovery grid only after a person on our team approves that photo.
  • If your identity check is rejected, you can see the reason in your host dashboard and upload again.
  • We can withdraw a verification later. If we do, your live access is closed straight away — including any stream that is running at that moment.

If you start an application and do not finish it, the photos and the ID pictures you already uploaded are deleted automatically. See the privacy policy for the exact timing.

5House rules for going live

These are the rules you tick when you apply, written out in full.

  • No nudity and no sexual content. Not on camera, not implied, not "for a big gift".
  • No illegal activity on stream, including drugs, weapons, gambling and anything involving a person under 18.
  • Gifts are never payment for sexual or private acts. A gift buys an animation on screen and nothing else. Offering anything else in exchange for gifts ends your account.
  • No moving money or contact off the platform. Do not ask viewers to pay you directly, to send M-Pesa to your personal number, or to move to WhatsApp, Instagram or Telegram.
  • Only your own content. Do not stream music, film or other material you have no right to use.
  • Only you. The person on camera must be the person whose ID we verified. Do not put someone else in front of your camera and do not let anyone else use your account.
  • No harassment of viewers, of other hosts or of our staff.

Break these rules and we may end your stream, mute or suspend you, remove your profile from the grid, and — where the law requires it — report the matter to the authorities.

6Chat rules for everyone

Chat is filtered automatically before a message is shown. The filter is not a person; it works on patterns, so it will sometimes stop a message that was innocent.

  • Messages are limited to 300 characters.
  • Blocked outright: contact details and social media handles, e-mail addresses, long strings of digits (phone or account numbers, including ones written with dots or spaces in between), payment methods outside Miresho, and escort or prostitution language. A blocked message is never posted; you see why it was refused.
  • Flagged but allowed through: borderline "sponsor me / arrangement / generous" style wording. These go to our moderation team for review.
  • Anyone can report a user or a stream to us.

Talking about coins and gifts on Miresho is completely normal — the filter is aimed at money and contact leaving the platform, not at gifting inside it.

7Coins

Coins are what you use to send gifts. You buy them through M-Pesa (you get a payment prompt on your phone) or by card, when card payment is switched on.

  • The rate is fixed: 10 coins = KSh 1. That is the rate we use to turn a host's coins into shillings.
  • Coins are sold in packages, and a bigger package can be a little cheaper per coin — for example 1,000 coins for KSh 92. The price is always shown before you pay.
  • Coins are a way to use features on Miresho. They are not money, not a deposit and not a bank balance. You cannot transfer them to another account or exchange them back into cash.
  • Coins do not expire. Our system has no rule that removes unused coins.
  • Every coin movement is recorded in a double-entry ledger. Your balance is the sum of those records, which means we can always show you where a coin came from and where it went.

If a payment goes wrong

If money left your M-Pesa but no coins arrived, our system re-checks unfinished payments every ten minutes and credits the coins if the payment did in fact succeed. If that does not fix it, e-mail inuka@mireya.app with the M-Pesa confirmation message and we will look it up in our records.

There is no self-service refund button. If we owe you a correction we make it by hand, and it is recorded in the ledger. Nothing here takes away a refund right you have under Kenyan law.

Spending limits

To protect people from spending more than they meant to, and to make fraud harder, there are daily limits: 5,000 coins a day for a standard account and 100,000 coins a day for a verified account. Sending gifts extremely fast (more than twenty in ten seconds) is slowed down and flagged for review.

8Gifts

Gifts run from 10 coins (KSh 1) up to 25,000 coins (KSh 2,500). Sending one plays an animation in the room and adds to the host's earnings and to the leaderboards.

  • A gift is final. Once it is sent it cannot be taken back or converted to cash.
  • Your display name is shown publicly with the gift, in the room and on the leaderboards.
  • A gift never entitles you to anything private, off-platform or sexual. See the house rules above.
  • Gifts are booked in the background. If your balance, a daily cap or a fraud check refuses a gift, you are told and no coins are taken.

Gifting as a guest, without an account

You can send a gift with your M-Pesa number only, without creating an account. In that case:

  • A phone number is required. There are no anonymous gifts on Miresho. The name shown in the room is cosmetic — our moderators always see the real number behind a gift.
  • The gift is only booked if the number that paid matches the number that ordered, and the amount matches. If they do not match, nothing is booked.
  • Limits apply: a maximum of KSh 3,000 per gift, a maximum of KSh 20,000 per hour from one number, and no more than five payment prompts to the same number per 30 minutes.

9What a host earns

You keep the majority of every gift, always. Your share depends on your tier, and a tier you have reached is yours to keep.

TierYou keepHow you get there
New host60%Everyone who joins after the beta group
Beta founder65%The first 20 approved hosts
Established70%40 hours live or KSh 20,000 in gifts in one calendar month
Top tier75%100 hours live or KSh 100,000 in gifts in one calendar month
  • Months run on Nairobi time. Hours count only from streams you have finished; streams that overlap are counted once, and at most 12 hours a day count towards a tier.
  • Gifts count towards a tier only if the transaction stands — a reversed gift does not buy a tier.
  • You climb, you never fall. Missing a target means you do not move up yet. There are no quotas that cut your pay, no penalties and no clawbacks. We do not lower a share you already have.
  • Your host manager is paid 5% out of our share, never out of yours.
  • Tiers are re-checked once a month, just before payouts are prepared.

Tax

We deduct 5% withholding tax from your share and pay it over to the Kenya Revenue Authority. We earn nothing on it. The amount withheld is shown on your statement. The exact rate can change if the law changes.

[[INVULLEN: confirm the correct withholding rate and the exact KRA category with an accountant, and state here whether Miresho issues a withholding tax certificate to hosts]]

10Getting paid

Payouts go to your M-Pesa number, once a month.

  • Before your first payout you need: an active profile, a completed identity check, and an M-Pesa payout number that you have confirmed with a code sent to that number.
  • The minimum payout is KSh 1,000. Below that the amount simply rolls over to the next month, and no tax is withheld until it is actually paid out.
  • A payout is prepared automatically at the start of the month, and you can also request one from your dashboard. Every payout is approved by a person before the money is sent.
  • Your statement shows the gross amount, your percentage, the tax withheld, what lands in your M-Pesa, and a breakdown per shift.
  • If the transfer fails, it is marked as failed and we look into it. We may pause a payout while we check a fraud alert or a duplicate-identity alert.

Ask for your money before you delete your account

Deleting your account removes your identity verification and your payout number. Our system refuses to pay out to a host who is not verified, so a balance that is still with us when you delete cannot be paid afterwards. If you want to leave, ask for your payout first and wait until it has arrived.

11Warnings, mutes and bans

Our moderators watch the live rooms and the flagged chat. They can:

  • Mute you for a while (usually 10 minutes, never longer than 24 hours) — you can still watch, but not chat;
  • Delete a message from every screen it is on;
  • Suspend an account, which disconnects you from the chat and from the video immediately and stops you signing back in;
  • End a stream and close a host's live access.

Every moderation action is written to an audit log with who did it and when. Decisions about people — approvals, identity checks, bans — are made by a person, not by software. The chat filter and the spending limits are the only things that act automatically.

If you think a decision is wrong, e-mail inuka@mireya.app and say what happened. We do not have an appeal button in the app; a human reads that mailbox. [[INVULLEN: state how quickly Miresho promises to answer an appeal, e.g. within 7 working days]]

12Your photos, your stream, your name

What you make stays yours. You give us permission to use it in the ways below, and no further.

  • Your photo. If you tick the photo consent box, we may show your main photo on your talent profile and on the public discovery grid. You can withdraw that consent by e-mailing us; we will take the photo down.
  • Automatic photo enhancement. After your application is approved, your main photo is sent to an outside image service (fal.ai) that sharpens and upscales it. It improves your own photo — it does not create an AI face. If the service fails, we keep your original.
  • Your live stream. You allow us to transmit your stream to viewers while you are live. We do not record your streams — there is no recording function in our system. We cannot stop a viewer from filming their own screen, and that is outside our control.
  • Your extra screening photos are for our review team. We do not publish them.
  • Your name in public. Your stage name, your display name and your position on leaderboards are visible to other users. Your legal name, phone number, e-mail address and ID are not shown to other users.

You promise that what you upload is yours to upload, and that showing it does not break someone else's rights.

13Where we are right now

Miresho is in beta, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

  • Gifting is being tested with our first hosts.
  • M-Pesa is still connected to Safaricom's test environment. Real coin purchases and real M-Pesa payouts switch on once our Paybill is approved. Card payment through Stripe is built but not switched on.
  • Until then, no real money moves and no real payout has been made. When that changes, this page and the host page will say so.

14Closing your account

You can delete your account yourself when you are logged in, or ask us to do it by e-mail. When an account is deleted:

  • your phone number, e-mail, display name and date of birth are removed from the account;
  • a host profile is deactivated, and the stage name, biography and payout number are cleared;
  • your identity data is deleted, including anything left in the ID vault;
  • your chat messages and device fingerprints are deleted, your sessions are ended and you are disconnected from any live room;
  • the financial records stay, because a business has to keep its books — but they are no longer connected to your name.

Read the warning in section 10 before you delete an account that still has a balance.

We can also close an account: for breaking these terms, for fraud, for being under 18, or if we are required to. If we do that while we owe you money, we still pay what you have earned, unless the law or a fraud investigation stops us.

15The service itself

  • We do our best to keep Miresho running, but we do not promise it will always be available. It is a live platform on the public internet, in beta.
  • We can change features, gift prices, packages and tiers. If we change something that affects what you earn, hosts who already reached a higher share keep it.
  • You need your own device and internet connection. Data costs are yours.
  • Miresho is not connected to Safaricom, M-Pesa, Cloudflare, LiveKit or any other supplier beyond using their services. Using M-Pesa also means agreeing to Safaricom's own terms.
  • Nothing on Miresho is a promise of income. What you earn depends on what viewers choose to send you.

16Our responsibility, and its limits

We are responsible for running the platform honestly: for paying you the share we promised, for keeping your data the way the privacy policy describes, and for acting when someone breaks the rules.

We are not responsible for what other users say or do, for money you lose because you moved a deal off the platform, for your internet or your device, or for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost followers. Where the service is interrupted, our responsibility is limited to putting it right.

Nothing here removes a right you have under Kenyan law that cannot be signed away — including under the Consumer Protection Act and the Data Protection Act, 2019.

17Complaints, law and disputes

Start with us: e-mail inuka@mireya.app and describe the problem. Most things are a misunderstanding that a person can sort out.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.

[[INVULLEN: dispute resolution clause — which Kenyan courts have jurisdiction, or whether disputes go to arbitration in Nairobi, and whether a small-claims route is offered first. To be drafted by a Kenyan lawyer.]]

If your complaint is about your personal data, you can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. See the privacy policy.

18Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we publish the new text here with a new version number and date. The version at the top of this page is the one that applies. For an important change we will also tell you inside the platform, and by e-mail where we have your address. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using Miresho and close your account.
